Programme
Aimed at students between 14 and 16 years old, the educational model is mainly in English, including more than 500 hours of French annually (more than 12 hours a week) and where learning is structured in levels, so students can join whether or not they have prior knowledge.
The curriculum is structured around eight subject groups. Some of them are worked on in a blended way, which offers the possibility of accessing multiple materials and online classes, because the teaching and learning process is managed beyond class timetables and physical spaces.
The teacher ratio student ratio is 1:3, which facilitates and guarantees personalised attention and efficient learning for each of the SEK-Les Alpes students.
The curriculum can be enriched over the course of the academic year, we prepare students for the Alliance Française Diploma and for the Cambridge language exams, according to the level acquired.
In addition, the school also offers the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It is an all-round personal development scheme intended for students from MYP4, designed so that these students have the possibility of strengthening different skills that will be useful for their personal growth. The DofE is based, throughout its different levels, on four fundamental areas that students must work on demonstrating commitment and regularity:
• Physical activity
• Community service.
• Developing skills
• Outdoor expeditions.

Students receive lessons taught by instructors from the French Ski School on Thursdays and Saturdays and on Sundays skiing is free. These activities are part of the school curriculum.
During the last term, with the improved weather conditions, students focus on sporting activities. Students make the most of the unique enviroment doing orienteering around the area, canyoning in La Lechere, rafting on the Isère river, tree adventure parks at Fort de Tamié, water skiing in Albertville, caving in Sassenage, climbing in Praz Sur Arly, just some of the activities that we offer and through which we develop our major educational pillars: effort.
Cultural and recreational activities: The exclusive location allows students to enjoy a unique experience to get to know Europe. Every month they visit nearby towns and cities. In addition, they will also visit three countries during the academic year: Italy (first term), Switzerland (second term) and France (third term).
