1. INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
The Boarding House at SEK Catalunya offers an ideal setting for harmonious living in a multicultural, diverse, tolerant and open environment. It brings together young students and educators from countries around the world.
Aimed at students between 12 and 18 years of age who:
• Are looking for their first International experience in preparation for a possible university future in an international environment.
• Wish to improve their level of English or Spanish by language immersion.
• International students who want to take advantage of their stay in the Boarding House to better understand the local culture.
2. SPORTS
Students who wish to combine study and sports will find an ideal setting at SEK-Catalunya thanks to its fantastic facilities. Weekends are special for the most athletic boarders. In winter students ski and do snow sports in some of the best resorts in Europe. In spring and summer, students can travel to the coast to enjoy water sports such as surfing, paddle surfing, kayaking, scuba diving, sailing…
Aimed at students between 12 and 18 years, lovers of sport, interested in accessing high level sports and also:
• Who want to combine studies with the possibility of practising sports every day, both on and off school grounds.
• Who wish to join any of the SEK-Catalunya teams (football, swimming, figure skating, basketball…) or would like to compete with other clubs outside school.
• Who feel the need to play sports, understanding it as an essential component of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
3. HIGH ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
This programme is characterised by its ability to provide individualised learning. Understanding that each case is different, the educators of the Boarding halls prepare a tailored study plan for each student that is designed taking into account their abilities, needs, interests and learning paces.
Aimed at students between 12 and 18 years of age who:
• Are conscientious and committed.
• Want to get the most out of their studies, in the International Baccalaureate programmes (Middle
Years Programme and Diploma Programme), to ensure the best university opportunities.
• Wish to study at international universities and want first experience in a diverse and multicultural environment.
4. CURRICULAR EXPANSION
As a true international school, SEK-Catalunya offers a very all-round curriculum where any student will find a way to satisfy their interests.
Aimed at students between 12 and 18 years of age who:
• Have a curiosity and a passion for learning in any form.
• Wish to complement their academic learning with activities that develop additional skills and competencies.
• Understand that a stay in our boarding halls is an unbeatable opportunity for personal development and growth.
The school has high-quality, flexible learning spaces such as intelligent classrooms, equipped with the latest technology and a wide variety of teaching resources.
It has an entire floor devoted to science that includes several laboratories for physics, chemistry and natural sciences.
It also has specialised libraries for Secondary and Diploma Programme students.
It also has maker and robotics classrooms, so students can work collaboratively on projects
or develop their creativity in areas of personal interest.
The school has its own School of Music, linked to Trinity College London, with various spaces for individual and group lessons and musical performances. Students also enjoy excellent sports facilities, including a natural forest, an artificial 7-a-side football pitch, three padel tennis courts, a heated indoor swimming pool and a large sports hall.
Meanwhile, the boarding halls has 52 beds and modern spaces devoted to study where attention is
paid to every detail for boarders to feel at home. The rooms have their own en-suite bathroom. All of them have large windows with privileged views of the Montseny Natural Park. As for leisure, the boarding halls have everything for students to enjoy their free time: television room with board games and video game consoles, rest areas, kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator.
• Double and triple rooms in both the boys and the girls dormitories.
• Full board with breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner.

• Complete laundry service for personal clothing and bedding.
• Security service.
• Academic and study support programme with teachers of different subjects and professionals of the psychopedagogical department.
The school has two types of accommodation:
• Full boarding: full month, including weekends.
• Weekly boarding: Monday to Friday.
Sport activities both on and off school grounds. Swimming, football, basketball, padel tennis, volleyball, skiing, fitness, horse riding, mountain biking, golf, water sports, trekking, martial arts…
In addition, the school also offers the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It is an all-round personal
development scheme intended for students from MYP4- year 3 ESO, designed so that these students
have the possibility of strengthening different skills that will be useful for their personal growth. The DofE is based, throughout its different levels, on four fundamental areas that students must work on demonstrating commitment and regularity:
• Physical activity.
• Community service.
• Developing skills.
• Outdoor expeditions.
Artistic activities: Music School linked to the Trinity of London, theatre group, fine arts, dance and photography.
Technological activities: multimedia production and design, robotics, Arduino, drones, 3D printing, programming.
