What does the programme include?

Students can opt for the Academic Enrichment Boarding Programme from Monday to Friday or Long-stay Boarding (Monday to Sunday).

The objective is to significantly boost academic performance, adding four hours a day of study outside school hours, which are divided into:

  • Extra study or tuition, in small groups and with specialised teachers in the different science and humanities subjects.
  • Supervised study sessions, in which students perform tasks in groups or work individually. They also receive tuition on study techniques to acquire good working methods, which helps them to better manage their time.

With this programme boarders improve their academic performance while receiving the benefits of a healthy coexistence, within the framework of an education in values and respect for the diversity of other cultures.

In addition, boarders enjoy large open spaces and excellent facilities, which provide everything necessary to optimise their learning and for the development of sports, leisure and the establishment of bonds of friendship and camaraderie.

An innovative model

SEK schools are pioneers in Spain in offering the three programmes offered by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (PYP, MYP and Diploma).
This means we are able to offer the highest quality programmes and models to students, over all educational stages:

Primary School
Students from 10 to 12 years of age will study their final years of Primary bilingually (50% Spanish, 50% English) and will combine their studies with the International Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Secondary School
SEK schools offer the International Baccalaureate IB® Middle Years Programme (MYP), giving students the chance of studying in both Spanish and English (50% each).

An innovative concept for boarders is the Intelligent Digital Classroom, in which students use technology to access educational content through online platforms. They can also upload their work and receive comments and corrections as soon as they finish, reinforcing and stimulating their learning.

Baccalaureate:

The goal of SEK International Schools is to ensure students access the university and degree of their choice, in Spain or abroad.

For this, they can choose between taking the Spanish Bachillerato (LOMCE), focused entranced to Spanish universities, or completing their pre-university studies with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB®).
